
Crane Operator Classes Cambridge - For the supervisors and the operators, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content deals with relevant state, federal and provincial safety regulations. The training's first component consists of complete in-class instruction and test. After that is a customized hands-on session with practical lessons and assessment.
The content of the course applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting crane machines. The instruction will specifically focus on all aspects of crane operation that can be carried out at the trainee's workplace. Upon completion of the course, individuals training would learn how to operate specific overhead lifting machines, related parts and attachments in a safe and efficient way.
The operator course's objective is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits which could develop when an individual operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be prevented with correct practices. Training reduces the possibility of a workplace injury or incident happening.
The length of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their knowledge of training material through an assessment of their practical knowledge and written testing. The minimum acceptable score is 80%.
During the in-class session, participants would know applicable guidelines and legislation, causes of occurrences and damages, danger awareness, internal responsibility, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, design principles and basic equipment, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment inspections, kinds of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, pedestrian/operator safety, angles and hitches, flipping/turning loads safely, hand signals for slingers and operators.
The practical training and evaluation portion of the course should be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training would be held at the trainees' facility. The duration of this practical training component is one to two hours. Two operators at a time will be trained by the instructor on skills such as safe operation, planning the lift and correct rigging practices.
Upon completing the practical operating instruction and evaluation and the in-class instruction, the trainee will write a test. Signed safety rules will be needed from every participant. Trainees who are successful will be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
